Amritsar
Our college 3rd year just got over. From next semester, we were going to get placed. It felt like our life was about to end. And we still haven’t made any trip together. So, here we go. Our first college trip.
Places we visited: the Golden Temple, Wagah Border and Jallianwala Bagh
Crossing Beas river before reaching to Amritsar via train from Delhi.
First stop: the Golden Temple.
Did you know there’s a Shivlingam in Golden Temple’s pond.
Well, I was the photographer. It had to be bad!!
Next Stop, Jallianwala Bagh. Although, it has a very small entry gate, but it’s huge once you’re inside.
The well of Jallianwala Bagh in which freedom fighters jumped to save their lives.
Next destination, Wagah Border, a place where your patriotism will shout out so loud, that nothing can stop it. The Wagah-Attari border ceremony happens at the border gate, two hours before sunset each day. The flag ceremony is conducted by the Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force (BSF).
Look at the enthusiasm in the people!!
Even, I was shouting, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”
Finally, we were able to take a good shot with one of the officers. He also told my freind how to handle the national flag respectfully when it’s not flying high :-)
